Abstract
The long history of conversion in Indonesia occurred in the 1980s when the political competition of Pancasila ideology and Islamism took the form of physical forms such as beards, turbans, and pants, to hijab. In 1979 the political side of the authoritarian and repressive New Order regime considered the emergence of Iran's Islamic revolution to be a threat to Pancasila ideology that violated human rights. Thus, the dehumanization, intolerance, and decriminalization of Muslims in Indonesia especially women are threatened with social, economic, and even discontinued educational aspects. Lautan Jilbab poem was born as a medium of criticism considered safe to answer the challenges of social and religious problems in its time. By examining existing studies, this article pays special attention to the formulation of socio-religious criticism of the Lautan Jilbab poem historically also critically against the background of the problem: (a). What is the form of religious social criticism in the Lautan Jilbab poem? (b) .Why was the Lautan Jilbab poem written and became a critique of the religious social phenomena of its time?(c). How the implications of the Lautan Jilbab poem on social-religious phenomena over time.
